The month kicked off on October 1st with World Vegetarian Day, an event that was founded by the North American Vegetarian Society in 1977 and endorsed by the International Vegetarian Union in 1978. Throughout October you can educate yourself and others about vegetarianism and indulge in delectable meat-free meals.
